Learning About Water Beyond the Classroom: Vocational Students Join PoVE Water in Malta

The Erasmus+ project PoVE Water continues to strengthen European cooperation in water education and training by welcoming new associated partners from France 🤝.We are pleased to announce the collaboration with the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications d’Excellence du Génie Civil et des Infrastructures Intelligentes (CMQe Egletons), a key actor in vocational excellence within the fields of civil engineering and public works.

As part of this growing partnership, five vocational students specialising in public works and civil engineering from Lycée Pierre Caraminot had the opportunity to travel to Malta 🇲🇹 and take part in an international learning experience focused on water management and sustainability 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️.

During their stay, the students participated in the autumn school organised by MCAST, where they explored how Malta manages its scarce water resources. Through a combination of expert inputs, site visits, and peer exchange, students gained hands-on insights into water consumption, treatment, and infrastructure challenges in a Mediterranean context 💧🌍.

One of the participants, Adrien, shared how this experience significantly changed his perception of water use. By learning directly from professionals and seeing real-life applications, he developed a deeper understanding of the importance of responsible water consumption and sustainable practices — knowledge that will be essential in his future professional career.

This mobility experience reflects PoVE Water’s core mission: to connect vocational education, industry, and sustainability across Europe, while empowering the next generation of professionals with the skills and awareness needed to address today’s water challenges.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration and to welcoming more students, educators, and partners as PoVE Water grows its European network 🌊✨
