When Lisa, an English teacher at Pierre Caraminot High School in Égletons, was invited to take part in the Water Days organised by Mendel University, she immediately saw the opportunity it could bring to her students.
“I wanted to give the students the opportunity to experience something that they wouldn’t necessarily think about as a potential career path,” she explains.
Every year, the Water Days bring together students from many different fields, including water management, applied biology, chemistry, renewable energy, sustainable environment, construction, public works, and civil engineering. The event highlights how water connects disciplines and regions, reminding participants that water flows without borders and across sectors.
Through fieldwork, discussions, and collaboration, students gain new insights into water-related challenges while meeting peers and professionals from across Europe.
The PoVE Water team is already looking forward to welcoming students and teachers to the next edition of Water Days in Brno in 2026.
